Mural Location: Mogao Cave 003, South Wall

Mural Topic: Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who vowed to save all living beings after the Thousand Light King Tathagata of Tranquil Abode recited to him the Dharani of the Great compassionate Heart. The thousand eyes could detect all living hardships, and the thousand hands could save all living beings.

Mural Content: This eleven faced Thousand-Armed Thousand-Eyed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is standing with a front face in the center and side faces on the left and right. One pair of hands were put together in front of the chest; another pair holding a treasure bowl in front of the belly, and another pair holding the Buddha image overhead. All the other hands and eyes form a concentric circle around the main body. In the upper corners above the Bodhisattva are a pair of apsaras flying in the clouds. On the two sides of the Bodhisattva are portraits of deities: Sakara, Saraswati, and Brahma.

壁画方位：莫高第003号窟南墙

壁画主题：千手千眼观世音菩萨，听千光静住如来说大悲心陀罗尼神咒后，发誓要安乐利益一切众生。以千眼观众生之苦，千手济众生之难。

壁画内容：这尊十一面千手千眼观音立像以正面为中心，侧面在左右。一双手合掌于胸前，另一双手捧宝钵于脐间，另一双托佛像于头顶。其余千手千眼以主身为中心形成同心圆。菩萨像上方东西角各绘飞天于云端。菩萨像东西两侧绘诸神：帝释天、梵天女、和婆罗门。
